Andrea Stewart attended the Remembrance Day Ceremony at Tomahawk Park this past Thursday and has kindly submitted the following for the Town of Cut Knife’s News blog.
Cut Knife’s Royal Canadian Legion, branch number 200, held a Remembrance Day Service at Tomahawk Park on November 11. The parade to the Cenotaph was led by RCMP Auxiliary Constable Randy Kammerer, Cnst. James Howitt and Sgt. Murray Drever, retired. Legion members Glenn Stewart, Brian MacDonald, Marshall Veikle and Dixie Eddingfield also took part. The outdoor service was brief, yet still managed to honour those whose lives were lost in both world wars and other conflicts around the world. Thankfully, the weather was cooperative this year and hopes are that next year’s service will be able to be held at the Elk’s Theatre again.
