In case of fire, DIAL 9-1-1
In April 2019, the Cut Knife and District Fire Association celebrated the Grand Opening of it’s new fire hall. The new building is situated on the edge of town on Dion Avenue where it meets the west grid road. This location is convenient to the Cut Knife Health Complex but also allows for a quick and safe exit from town for emergency vehicles.
The completion of this project was a cooperative effort between the Fire Association’s members: Town of Cut Knife, RM of Cut Knife 439, RM of Hillsdale 440, RM of Buffalo 409, RM of Round Valley 410.
The new building is equipped with a wash bay and now houses the following:
- C 421 R – Command Unit
- E 421 R – Engine
- R 421 R – Utility/ Rescue
- W 421 R – Hummer
- W 422 R – Bull Dog
The new hall is functional and flexible with space for meetings, training, or debriefing sessions, and a small kitchen for meals or refreshments. Washroom facilities with showers serve the Fire Association’s female and male volunteer firefighters. There are lockers for uniforms and gear as well as adequate storage space for supplies and additional equipment.
