The Town of Cut Knife serves almost 600 residents, a farming community of approximately 400, and our neighbours on Little Pine First Nation (pop. 700*), Lucky Man Cree Nation (pop. 115*), Poundmaker Cree Nation (pop. 547*), Sweetgrass First Nation (pop. 643*), and the Hillsvale Hutterite Colony.

* Please note that First Nations’ population numbers include off -reserve members.

** Lucky Man Cree Nation lived as part of Little Pine First Nation until 1989 when their claim resulted in a 30 square kilometre reserve carved from Little Pine First Nation. Currently, the majority of their members are living off-reserve until a successive claim for additional land is settled.
