On this Canada Day, we acknowledge that the land on which the Town of Cut Knife is situated is Treaty 6 territory, the traditional territory of Cree Peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.
Mayor Gwenn Kaye, Deputy Mayor Doug Robertson, and Councillors Lyle Cronk, Jason Lloyd, Fred Roschker, and Daryl Sperling send out their warmest Canada Day wishes to all residents of the Town of Cut Knife, and to all who live in our neighbouring communities.
The Town of Cut Knife is very fortunate that so many people from near, and far, have chosen to call this community home. All are welcome: families whose ancestral roots go back thousands of years, those whose roots go back generations, the newcomers from other parts of Canada and many other countries, and our newest Canadian citizens.
Canada’s strength is in its diversity. And, Cut Knife’s future looks bright.
